Have you ever prayed for something so deeply that it shook your very core? That's what I experienced in the fall of 2019 when I prayed for healing and transformation. Despite not showing severe symptoms of my illnesses, I felt a profound urge to ask God for help. It was a decision that would alter the course of my life forever.
Throughout this journey, I've learned that healing and transformation aren't always linear. There are highs and lows, victories and setbacks. But through it all, I've discovered the power of faith and resilience. Join me as I recount the challenges and triumphs of this incredible journey.
In the fall of 2019, just months before the world would be upended by the pandemic, I prayed a simple prayer: "God, I believe you can heal my body from these illnesses and transform my life."
When I tell this story to others, I always caution them about believing and asking God for what you truly want because He will deliver, and you better be ready.
See, when I prayed this prayer, I wasn’t actually experiencing symptoms of ulcerative colitis or Hashimoto’s. In fact, my life was really stable in terms of my health. As a health coach for the past 15 years, I had developed an approach to keep my body in remission without medication and had been living largely symptom-free for a good part of 10 years. But I did have a catastrophic, gut-wrenching pressure to ask God to heal my body and transform my life. I did have a lingering feeling. The lingering feeling was that I knew deep down I was meant for more. I knew at some point in my life, I would have to face these dormant diseases in my body. I knew if I wanted to find my true potential in life, I was going to have to change. I just didn’t know how much yet.
Within a month or two, the floodgates opened, and the healing began. I have to tell you, experience is such a powerful teacher when you can feel its feedback. Now, I just have to say this: one of the very first things I learned was that the signs and symptoms of being sick and the signs and symptoms of healing are actually one and the same. So what makes the difference? Your decision about what the signs and symptoms mean to you.
